Traveling with pets is a trend that is growing steadily.

No one knows your pet better than you, so you need to decide to take your pet on a trip or not. In this article, we bring you some more tips on traveling with pets, as well as beaches in Croatia where they are welcome.

One of the essential items is a crate. You have to get used to it before you travel, not on a plane or in a hotel room because it can be stressful for them. Pay attention to the size, weight, and material, make it suitable for your pet and comply with the requirements if you are on an airplane. The crate should have food and water pots. They need to be locked and have enough space for the pet to sit, stand and lie. They should also have an impermeable base. If the pet is a smaller size, some airline companies allow you to travel with you in the cabin. Try to fly direct flights.

Do not leave pets unattended in the car, and do not ride it on the passenger’s seat as it is dangerous to the pet and may also interfere you as a driver.
At the hotel try to be on the lower floors, so you do not have to use an elevator, stairs or come into conflict with other guests. Keep your pets clean and neat. In case something is dirty, you may have additional costs. Do not leave them alone and unattended, and if you have to do so, place the inscription “Do not disturb” on the door to prevent employees from entering the room, scare yourself or your pet.
Before each trip, independently which way you travel, walk your pet before and immediately after the journey ends.

Dog beaches in Croatia

In Croatia, the beaches for dogs are about growing numbers, and you will undoubtedly find at least one in each part of the coast.

Istria has the highest number of beaches for pets. In Medulin and Pula, the pets can swim in Medulin and Pula, but from 8 pm until 8 am. In Labin and Rabac swimming is allowed on all beaches that do not have a Blue Flag.

In Novigrad and Umag, these pets beaches are in the tourist complex of Kangar, Savudrija, Sol Polynesia, Sol Stella Maris, Pula’s Veruda beach, Pula’s Istrian beach and a part of the White camp beach.

In Rijeka and its surroundings, there are dog’s beaches: Brajdica beach, Mikulova Kava on Kostrena, Punta kolo between Opatija and Ičići, and in Lovran it is beach under the villa Prappart.

The island of Krk gladly accepts pets, and they can swim on the beaches of Redagar, Vela beach, Kijac, and Punta Šilo.
There are also several beaches in Dalmatia that are ideal for your pets.

On the island of Vis, it is the beach Vartalac, and in Split the northwestern part of Kašun, the western part of Kaštela, Kvadar on Žnjan, Trstenik, and Lumbarda. On the island of Pag is a beach within the Straško camp for pets, on the island of Hvar it is the part of the beach Zaraće, and on the island Brac it is a fenced beach for dogs in Bol. In the vicinity of Dubrovnik, it is a beach in Slano.
Whatever beach you decide to go, the rules are mostly the same. Your pets need to be clean, and you should carry on their behavior. Also, do not forget that dogs do not have to belong in the sun and provide them with a place to rest.
